As a local Indianapolis moving company, we feel that it is important to give back. Our staff at Wheaton Moving & Storage has been proud to partner with Susan G. Komen Tissue Bank at the IU Simon Cancer Center (KTB) for all of their logistics needs. For over eight years, we have worked alongside one another to help collect tissue samples that will enable scientists and doctors to advance cancer treatments. “It’s just an amazing partnership,” said Kathi Ridley-Merriweather, Communication and Minority Outreach Coordinator at KTB.
The most recent event that Wheaton assisted KTB with was in Evansville, Ind., about 200 miles south of Indianapolis. For all of their events, they rely on Wheaton to arrive with their equipment on time and in great condition…and Wheaton delivers.
The whole process is a lot longer than a couple of days. Since KTB had to be onsite well before the event they met with us two weeks prior to pack up the truck and ensure all of the necessary equipment was on board. The night before the event, our specialized movers showed up with all of their equipment. We unpacked the truck and organized the equipment in the facility so they would be ready to go in the morning. After the event was over, we returned to the site, packed up all the equipment, and headed home. In addition to providing transport and logistics services, we give KTB storage services for all of their machines. Our system ensures that they don’t have to worry about their equipment and that it’s ready for the next event, wherever that may be!
