That’s why we were so excited to hear from the Hoosier Environmental Council (HEC) a few months ago. Read on to hear more about the results of this wonderful community project!
Our Indianapolis Movers Tackle the Shoe Shuffle
When the HEC contacted us with their request for help, we nicknamed their project the “Shoe Shuffle.” The goal of the Shuffle? To move more than a thousand pairs of donated shoes from three locations in Indianapolis (Zionsville, Downtown, and South Side) to a central location in Batesville.
Since April, HEC had partnered with several local groups to collect gently used shoes for donation. Through Fund2Orgs, these shoes would be sent to micro-entrepreneurs in developing countries all around the world.
As usual, Indianapolis residents rose to the occasion, donating nearly 1,300 pairs of shoes—so we at Wheaton were happy to step up to the challenge as well! We sent one of our most experienced Indianapolis movers, Chris, to pick up, load, transport, and unload the 91 bags of donated shoes.
Like our skilled drivers and movers always do, Chris made us proud with his dedication and work ethic, earning the thanks of HEC coordinators who said the following:
“I truly mean it when I say we couldn’t have done it without you. Your generosity helps HEC do more to help make Indiana a healthier, better place to live and do business.”
